Industrial Hygienist
Weaver Consultants Group is seeking an Industrial Hygienist that will be responsible for providing consulting services related to industrial hygiene, safety and environmental services. The responsibilities will include all aspects of industrial hygiene and environmental health including asbestos, lead, mold, indoor air quality, noise, radon, preparing written reports, proposals, or presentations with recommendations for corrective actions to alleviate hazards and to resolve issues that impact the health and well-being of our clients and their employees. Asbestos responsibilities will include but not be limited to performing building inspections, laboratory analysis interpretation, creating abatement scopes of work, abatement project oversight, and air sampling. Lead responsibilities will include but not be limited to performing inspections for lead-based paint using an XRF analyzer, creating lead mitigation scopes of work, mitigation project oversight, and air/wipe sampling. Mold responsibilities will include but not be limited to performing mold and moisture investigations, laboratory analysis interpretation, creating mold remediation scopes of work, remediation project oversight, and air/surface sampling. Office locations include Chicago and Naperville.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits and evaluations to identify and evaluate potential occupational health hazards that may include noise, chemicals, and radiation using their knowledge of IH principles, concepts, and practices.
- Design monitoring and tracking strategies and evaluate/perform field measurements using a variety of monitoring and sampling equipment.
- Develop technical reports to document the evaluation of workplace hazards and mitigation strategies, including engineering controls, administrative controls, or personal protective equipment, used to reduce or eliminate hazards.
- Present findings and recommendations to our clients
- Maintain a technical knowledge and skill level to provide guidance that is up to date with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Prepare Site Specific Health and Safety Plans (SSHASPs) and Pre Job Hazard-Analysis (PJHAs).
- Team with other safety and health disciplines and management to ensure proper work planning and implement activities for hazard evaluation and control.
- Respond to client inquiries as needed.
- Present topic information to a wide variety of audiences in an effective way.
- Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences or related field preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years consulting experience conducting industrial hygiene projects.
- Have one or more of the following licenses - IDPH Licensed Asbestos Building Inspector, Project Manager, Air Sampling Professional, Lead Risk Assessor or Lead Inspector
- Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
- Well-spoken and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to deal directly with clients in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently.
- Must have a good driving record and pass our MVR policy standards with a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to carry sampling equipment, climb structures, work at heights, and work outdoors.
- Work Overtime as needed.
- Travel with overnight stay when necessary
